Hi dean,

>>>What... They can't put up a siren warning like we have in Texas to warning people of on coming tornados? Why not?
>>
>>Tornados happend on your area every year systematically.. Stupid was if they not have any kind of warning system.. Events like that on Asia occur 1, 2 or 3 times on earth on each century.. It is completely different bro..
>
>I bet they wish they had such system now. Probably would have saved many, many lives and millions of dollars.

Of course, but that is only after the fact. No-one has foreseen this. How does this compare to the million people living in downtown San Fransisco. They know an disasterous earthquake could happen any day?

In asia all they had was 100 minutes. How would you save 100k people from drowning on a sunday morning in a non 1st world country with limited infrastructure? Those countries have much more to worry about than losing a couple of thousand citizens and tourists each 100 years because of disasters. It has never been a priority there.

>>For instance, here (in my area, Brazil's Northeast) there is no kind of natural disaster.. No hurricanes, no tornados, no vulcanos, no earthquake, etc.. (never, never happend)
>
>Never say never my friend. Disaster can happen anywhere.

But you cannot protect yourself from every disaster....
