Made my head hurt to write it, too. < s > Date handling is tricky: the lengths to which one has to go for a solution depends on how accurate one needs to be.

In this instance, yes. But if great-grand aunt Emma died 31-Mar-1902, age 33 years, 6 months, and 18 days, that solution gives a DOB of 09/12/1868 whereas I think you will find the correct answer is 09/13/1868.
