Yes, I know. By the use of timers, I am able to have the log of the Web Service verification to work at the same time as the log of the Web Servers using WWC. I also assume much more custom features will be requested. So, it was a good decision to build our own. As you said, it took me two days so far to build it up. I also did a lot of testing to simulate various backend failures and customize the returned message in the required format. The latest addition, the code in this thread to GetUrl() was also welcome and has helped me a lot.
