Having been given the task of creating a version of our current vfp application in .NET using winforms, I have began to appreciate the little things I have taken for granted with VFP. It's not the language so much (I'm using vb.net) but the behavior; little things like incremental searching in the combobox. How long have we had that...long enough I never had to right a "Special Routine" to perform that task. As I looked for that code on the internet, it appears that vb hasn't ever had the functionality...and this whole time I thought it was just the web controls that were missing that. Then there is the XP style themes...easy to overcome in .NET with a manifest file.....but why whould I need one. .NET is the bomb...where is the marketing documents does it say, "oh...by the way I don't naturally support the latest operating system themes..But foxpro does."
Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble, and thanks to the vfp team for giving us worthy products to actually develop in.
