In some applications I have written I have used the Webdings font for this.
Character code 0x39 is first
Character code 0x33 is previous
Character code 0x34 is next
Character code 0x3A is last

Check out the font in charmap.exe if this is unclear. Then just change the fontsize to make the "image" as big as you want.
