I have a customer using Windows 98.

I attempted to install a VFP8 appication on one of his machines and got back an error that the VFP8R.DLL file was corrupted when I attempted to launch the application. The machine as 65 MB of memory.

I looked at the VFP8R.DLL file on his machine and it was over 4 MB in size as it should be. I installed it using InstallShield which has worked fine on a number of other machines. I used the same CD.

I noticed that he has multiple Windows\System directories. I tried copying the runtime files to the other Windows\System directories and this did not help. The multiple Windows\System directories seem to have something to do with his Network but I haven't quite figured that out yet.

I have installed this application on some other pretty rickety machines (non Networked) and it has worked fine and I believe they were also Windows 98.

I know the Help File does not particularly recommend Windows 98 as a good platform for VFP 8.0 but I don't think it is an issue with my application.

Has anyone else come across this error "VFP8R.DLL file is corrupted". Any help would be most appreciated.
