No this is not the problem.

I fixed it but still don't understand why it works now. I turned off SmartNavigation on the page and now everything is fine.

Response.Redirect works in other parts of the application, just not on this one page (unitl I turned off SmartNavigation). It doesn't matter where I try to redirect; a local aspx page or any valid URL (www.msn.com for example).
