This may not be a solution, but the information may answer some question about VFP 8.0 and Windows 98.

I was a tester for the VFP team when VFP 8.0 was being developed. It was stated that we were to test it on specific OS platforms. Windows 98 was NOT one of them. They had decided (I guess) not to support Windows 98 as a reliable platform for 8.0.

If I am wrong, please correct me.
