>I know people who will not accept any type of dictionary as a source of reference. However, from the Merriam Webster dictionary we find an entry:
>
>Pay –
>to give, offer, or make freely or as fitting [pay attention]
Somehow, I'm not getting this meaning at all on so many papers that I receive each month, which mention that I will have to make more freely if I don't make freely by due date... :)
>One of the beauties of the English language is it can be interpreted in so many ways. It is therefore an outstanding example of a language to be used in a court of law. No body can agree upon the meaning or intent of words so a ruling has to be made as to what was meant! A different meaning may be understood by another court. It is all such fun!

>Speaking of the English language a word comes to mind which seems fitting. Ambiguous! :)
My point exactly... if we get to agree on the meaning of "my", "point", "exactly" and "meaning" (not to mention the ellipsis, which can also be ambiguous) :)
