Start the Year off Right! -- come to Chicago for the January FUDG Meeting
One of our most capable and exprienced programmers, Tom Corrigan, will give us a tutorial on encryption. His presentation is on using the CAPICOM ActiveX control as opposed to using the _crypt class in the Foundation classes. CAPICOM is a Microsoft ActiveX control that is freely distributable and is a whole lot easier to use than _crypt. His particular application involves encrypting a large data file for transmission to a 3rd party site. He will be talking about some of the issues and solutions involved with that. He will talk about other things you can do with encrypted files, like encrypt registry entries or create encrypted license files ala Verisign.
Other quick hits and discussion of seemingly intractable puzzles and right in front of your face solutions. Bring your issues! Time may permit an extended discussion or a presentation of your most recent break-through.
January 11, 2005 at 5:30pm in the historic Monadnock Building at 53 West Jackson, Conference Room 826 in Chicago.
