Sim, eu tambem acho que o problema é com diferenças dos sistemas operativos, alem do sistema de arquivos. Me dizeron que é problemático compartilhar archivos entre Windows XP, e sistemas operativos anteriores.
Tente accesar à máquina com o número IP e não como o nome da máquina; pode ser que isto funcione.
