Well it appears that HP is using some unique language/protocol called "HP JetReady 4.0" for these "budget" color laser printers. I fear they are doing the imaging on the Windows side instead of having the brain in the printer. As they say, you get what you pay for...

I tried some of the other HP drivers and they generate a "Chosen personality not available" error display on the printer. It would appear the one (useless) personality the printer has is not true "PCL" so no other driver will work with this thing.

As a side note, I tried the same report in VFP 9.0, same error.
