>Security.Description is defined as varchar (50). This often contains "tablename.columnname". Since in SQL-Server both the tablename and columnname can be 128 characters long each, how about changing this to nvarchar (257) ?

I'm sure that would be adequate. I was calculating the theoretical maximum for tablename.columnname as:
128 characters + "." + 128 characters = 257.
