Hello Jim:

If there is a way to improve the product, and we as users do not insist it be done, then it will not be. I'm not sure that it makes much difference how lack of functionality is characterized. This could not fairly be considered a bug, since it is not a function that M$ has even tried to provide (except limitedly by manipulating the ZOrder of objects). But having used it in other languages -- see, e.g. CA Visual Objects, I can tell you that positive control over the order in which controls fire events is a very nice ability that greatly increases the programmer's flexibility.

M$ has provided us a good language in VFP. But that fact that it does nearly everything we want it to do should not blind us to the fact that it does indeed have deficiencies -- which should be pointed out to M$ in the same manner as Chicagoans vote -- early and often.

Regards,

JME
