Title:
Dot Matrix Printing
I am doing an application where I must print to dot matrix printers to produce tags.
We would also like to be able to use the same printers for printing invoices and management reports.
I have done some testing with a Panasonic dot matrix printer and have found that I am unable to print in draft mode (which is much faster) because Windows takes over. I called Panasonic and they have confirmed that their various setup, escape code and control panel settings only work in the DOS environment.
My report form uses a New Courier Font, Regular which is supposed to be a standard font for the printer but it takes forever to print because the printer goes to Near Letter Quality mode rather than Draft mode.
Has anyone found a way of getting a dot matrix printer to print in draft mode from the Windows Environment?
