When I say ECMA I mean scriptors like VB or JavaScript, that are offered by the server, but can read and write stuff on the client.

For example, the XP Desktop installs an MSXML object (i think). A JS (JavaScript) routine may be able (again - not sure) to instanciate the clients XML DOM Object. Just a speculation. JSP and ASP can do it - but they require mounting on the server. But JavaScript and VB Script seem to use client objects. I have seen JavaScript instanciate a server object. I extended that observation to to speculate that JavaScript might also be able to use the clients DOM Object.

I know it's off topic - the original issue was forwarding a large XML format to a browser and little to do with working it once it was received by client.
