>For quite awhile now, VFP has had an issue with sometimes not closing forms when you click the Close (X) button in the upper right corner of a form. I saw this in VFP 6, 7, and 8. What will happen is that you will click the button, but the form will not close. Then if you drag the mouse pointer back over the close button *without* clicking it, the button will depress and when you drag it off the button it will return to normal. You can play a little game dragging it on and off the button and watching it depress and undepress. If you click again, the window will close. I'm not sure why this hasn't been fixed, but normally it's not that big of an annoyance. However, I have an app that runs in a single form as a top-level form and with the VFP main window hidden. It seems that if this error occurs when exiting the app, then when the user clicks the second time it somehow interferes with the shutdown of the app. It doesn't shut down - the form clears, but the VFP main window
>(which just briefly becomes active again) does not clear and the user has to end task. If the close error does not occur, the app executes a normal shutdown. Has anyone seen this type of problem? I have an Exit button on the form and, if I remember correctly, you can get rid of the close button (a feature I normally never use), so maybe that's an option.

Russell,
Wild guess - 'clear events' missing in app?
