Yes, I see how the snippet works. Also, I see by the snippet that we are on the same track as far as the snippet goes. What I am trying to do is change data sets (as per my repy to Marcia). I assume that code is what goes into oApp.SetDataDirectory?
On another note, I still don't understand why my first method doesn't work. I know that my form base class does not have a DE attached to it. But, it has a property called DEClass. Now if I create a class called rlcde(based on a DE base class), add my code to BeforeOpenTables and point DEClass to it why doesn't that work? I don't understand why the DE in new forms won't allow me to add tables to it or change any of the properties. It seems logical.
