Yeah, that's my experience. I know that if I'd seen it in other apps, it would jump out at me as being a Windows issue and not VFP specific. Obviously, if you click and are moving the mouse and the upclick occurs outside the button, Windows won't recognize it. This is proper and by design. I haven't had any replies that specifically say that they are seeing the exact behavior that both of us are seeing and that I (and you) only see in VFP.

Move mouse out (without clicking, just move it), button goes up. Move mouse back, button goes down. No mouse button is clicked during this. Just moving mouse in and out presses and depresses the x button.
