The greatest word processing program ever made was called Zorlof, which runs on TRS-80 Models I, III, and 4. I use it every day. It requires 32K memory, one disk drive, a line printer (either serial or parallel), and lower case modification (Model I only). It will work with a number of operating systems, such as TRSDOS and NEWDOS.
