The news item on the UT home page got truncated, so here's a little more about the latest Montage update. The immediate impetus for this set of changes was to provide needed functionality for an application of Montage to astronomy, which will be the main focus of my further work for a while, until it's ready for release as a separate product.

I've been gathering astronomy references and researching sources of excellent astronomical images, to be worked into "Cosmic Montage". A preliminary version of this Montage-based application is available as a separate download, free to registered guests. If you are interested in astronomy, and especially if you might be inspired to contribute to shaping Cosmic Montage, I encourage you to let me know. In case you're not aware of it, the stuff to be found on the web is way cooler than anything you'll ever see through a telescope!
