Unlike the Icon Works icon creator The Image Editor works a little differently when it comes to the background. You have to define what area is to be transparent when creating the icon. You do this by clicking on the screen color in the color palette. What I do is paint the entire area to begin with., then lay the colors over it.

BTW, I was just looking at your article in the current FoxPro Advisor. Good information. BTW, have you looked at the resizing tools here?
