Unfortunately when I run
?CPCURRENT()
?CPDBF()
I get the same answer - 1252

I have never changed the codepage and have always used the default.
VFP8 returns full optomisation

VFP9 returns partial optomisation

Regards
Geoff

But after I did a series of COPY TO newfile WITH CDX, first to a temp file, and then from the temp file to overwrite the original file, everything is fine..! I am convinced I did the exactly same thing yesterday!!
