Thanks for the info. That's correct, as BOL states...the scope of local (user-defined) variables is limited to a batch, and cannot be referenced after a GO command. And as Magnus pointed out, all local variables would go out of scope.

At the risk of repetition, I think Dan LeClair provided the best advice on this.
