Well, I am a late comer to this thread but there is an alternative to the other methods. Usually I build a cursor from where I build the tree, then I can use the cursor and all the data base command capabilities (locate - continue, SQL - Select, even SEEK) on the cursor to get the "nodes" I want, and for I have the node "key" in one of the fields (as well as the parent key), navigating afterwards in the treeview is pretty simple, if necessary (for example to activate or show or change a particular node)
