I would say nothing to the client. When he calls - tell him you're busy - and don't mention the project.
It's a classic con - I am sure in your 21 years you have been there before - the "client" is short on money (he needs it for Lap-Top Dances, right!), but there is plenty of work down the line - I love that "smoose".
I guess the reasons the UT member handed off this "client" are obvious!:)
