Kirk,
When using designer to set the image property for different controls those images are automaticaly embedded into the output exe (or dll) when you build your project, i.e. you do not need to distribute those images.
I would recomend that you add the images to the project just for your own house keeping so that you don't have to go looking for those images when you need to rebuild the application in the future.
