just FYI and out of interest, most people misinterpret the expression "The exception that proves the rule" as meaning "if there's a rule then the exception to it will provide confirmation of the rule". Actually, it refers to "proof" as in "proof-reading", meaning "test".
As the British actor, Michael Cain famously says, "Not a lot of people know that". :-)
