I have just used Rich Simpson's Mind's Eye Report Engine for a project that required printing from a VFP COM MTDLL. Because Rich's engine is written in Delphi and does not use the VFP Report Form command, that scenario works well. Rich has been very responsive in dealing with specific challenges, such as adding a font embedding capability (I don't know if that feature is in his current release version, however.)

I am impressed so far, both with the product and with the support.
