Is there a way , in Win200 or Win2003 , of detecting what machine and/or the logged in user name that has a file open.

I want to update an exe on a network drive, the file is in use, but nobody owns up to having the app open. (or it could be that the user is left on a weeks holiday and left their app open but maybe with the screesaver on or their screen switched off)

Ideally, if there is a way of elling this from another pc on the network, or failing this, to do it from the server.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

Gerard
