>I have a Word document with let's say 20 chapters : 1, 1.1, 1.2, 2, 3, 3.1, 3.1.1, ... Is there a way to access these chapters by code ? I have to 'dismantle' the document and get each chapter seperately.

I am not sure about the details, but for a start, I think each chapter heading should be marked with a corresponding Style. In the English version of Word, the styles would be called "Heading 1" for the main chapters, "Heading 2" for sub-chapters, etc., up to level 9.
