Check out some of the travel sites (Expedia, Travelocity, etc) to get an idea on hotel costs. IMO, $200/day is too little for NYC. I did a search on hotels.com and came up with about $100/night for a hotel. That's the lowest rate. You'll have to add taxes, meals, etc on top of that.
