Rodolfo,

>I'm wondering to stay for a week in NYC next June. I haven't been there before, so I'm looking for tips like a place to stay, places to visit, etc...

I cannot help you on places to stay, other than to say that you can maybe stay somewhere in surrounding areas, like maybe out in New Jersey, a little less expensively, and ride the train in every day.

For attractions, I suggest that you certainly should see Empire State Building (34th Street, I think), which is not very expensive to ride the elevators to the top. You, of course, get a great view of the entire city and can stay at the top as long as you want.

If you want to see a Broadway show (live drama or musical), you can wait in line during the late morning to noon time in Times Square (around 45th to 50th Street, I think) for last-minute tickets sold at half price just before the shows start. You won't know until you get to the ticket sales booth just what shows are available, but you can catch an afternoon matinee (less expensive to start with) at half price that way. I recommend a full musical show -- there's nothing else quite like it.

Statue of Liberty -- you can go to the island on a tour, or you can see it very well just by riding the Staten Island Ferry from lower Manhattan to New Jersey and back again (probably less expensive than the Statue tour).

Another one to check out is Radio City Music Hall (near the Times Square area), which has a full stage show with orchestra and dancing girls (the Rockettes) in addition to a movie. **Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this, because I don't know if they are still operating year-round -- it's been a long time...**

The United Nations tour was interesting when I went on it years ago.

I'm sure others will jump in with other suggestions. I hope you have a wonderful trip!
