Do you mean to add a new record to the underlying table, via the view, or add a record to the underlying table and have its addition be reflected in the view?

If the latter then Sylvain's right.
If the former then:

In the View Designer, select the Update Criteria tab
- Check Send SQL Updates
- Set SQL Update radio button under "Update Using"
- set the "SQL where clause" option radio button
- in the Field name list check all the fields in the table you want updated (under the pencil
icon)

>That works fine when you are updating existing records in the view. What I'm asking is how do refresh the view so it adds a newly appended record from the underlying table.
