Terry,
I am in complete agreement with you on select. The ONLY time you see select statements in my apps is when you cannot issue a seek command. When I need a "child" recordset I issue SELECT INTO ARRAY and all my arrays are object properties. I have no "free floating cursors". For a single record I use SEEK. It has been a tough time transitioning to SQL Server. I have a hard time getting out of the dBase, single record mentality. I am probably as nuerotic about memory as you are about clock cycles.
