You may achieve interesting effects with just VFP's native objects... look at John Koziol's "Bag of tricks" (should be in the downloads) to give you some headstart.

For a bouncing ball... I'd have two shapes, one rounded and one square, and have the ball shape change its .top and .left on a timer... or maybe a ball image object in a container.
