As far as getting info off of the drive:
Years ago I Purchased "Lost & Found" from Powerquest.
At the time, they even had the software you could download at their site that would first show you what it could get off of the drive, then you could decide if you wanted to buy it so you could recover the files. If they still do that, and I would think they would, that would be worth trying just because it's free. Good luck.
