>>Due to some adware crap, I had to reinstall XP on one of my boxes over the weekend. When I did, I lost the ability to see my server, which is where I have a share directory setup for all my data. There are three boxes; the server and 2 that access it. The 3Comm card says it's healthy, the hub lights show all green, but no matter what I do through network places, etc. I cannot see anything from the rebuilt XP box. Whenever I search for PCs near me and all that stuff, it just shows itself. I have tried changing the computer name and workgroup, etc. When I first setup the network last fall, everything just automatically saw the shared resources, I mapped some drives and that was it. In the meantime I have also added DSL and ZoneAlarm, but they seem to be working fine and before I had to rebuild the XP box, they were all happy together. What happened?

I'm not home now, but I ran IPConfig and I think it looked different than the others. Why did it change when I rebuilt the box and what do I need to do to get them to talk?
