Hi Jack,
3-4 years ago I thought the same. And start to develop in-house ProjectManagement which to suits my needs and to be connected with my Payroll.
Now all project leaders complain when new project started, because they have to spent additional time to describe the project in PM and to sent expected hours for development(which usually are diffrent than realy spent :-) )
Is it good or bad this - form me as owner is good because I can see how project moving on and bad - for small projects it don't worth to lose time of high qualified specialist to input like secretary so many info in the PM.
For Others is bad - lost of time:-)
For my accountant is good - all the info distributed by projects is available
You have to make your trade off
