IMHO, the real question here is Why are you still using VFP version 5? We are currently on version 9. Each version of VFP becomes more stable. More bugs get fixed with very release. Version 5 isn't even supported anymore.

There is no good reason to stay with version 5. There are many more compelling reasons to upgrade.
