Hi Mike,

I had to write a find form which users could search our browse lists with. If you could select out the fields into a cursor you could then search the cursor. This is basically what I done, scan through each column looking for values.

I dont know if this is the sort of thing you are looking for but I may be able to give you a little more info if you want.

Jon

There are other fields which I don't want operators to be able to see, so I don't even want them on the list. In a program, I want to be able to specify the fields, such as in the Foxpro for DOS version 2.6 where you can say 'browse fields code:R:H='Customer Code,;' etc having defined an appropriate window. In version 2.6, we can do this and use Control-F to do a search, which was actually very friendly and does precisely what I want, as I can then have an additional F Key to scatter memvar, go back to quotation file, and gather the memvar, hence filling in customers name and address.

Essentially I need a Control F sort of function within a form where I have specified the fields I want operators to see, and can put appropriate column headers etc using the standard form generator in Visual. There are times when I need the form to be modal, and the standard classes seem only to work in modeless forms.
