>yep still getting exception errors, is it just something that comes as standard if you expect to automate anything microsoft? I don't suppose anyone is currently automating excel simply opening updating and printing a sheet and getting stability? if so please talk to me. I actually get the full fox crashing exception error from the second line below, not often, maybe only 1 in 100 times the system runs through but when we run it a few hundred times day this having to restart a server based program is a big annoyance.

It sounds more likely that the problem is in the printing. Printer drivers are notorious for memory leaks, etc., especially HP supplied drivers. FWIW, we automate some Excel reporting from VFP and email the resultant spreadsheet, not print them, literally running 1000's of reports every day without incident. We have Excel 2000 on the servers where the Excel sheets are generated and emailed from.
