Larry,

I had the 2.6 connectivity kit, but rather than try to futz around with it to try to connect to SQL Server 2000, I created a VBScript file using the OLE DB provider for SQL Server, and called it using the ShellExecute function.

Since I know that Oracle has its own OLE DB provider, I think that the same technique might work here.
