COM/DCOM et OLE Automation
Joel, your choice is perfectly legit, but, don't group vfp mtdlls with the traditional use of VFP COM EXEs as far as ease of use. I've found vfp mtdlls much, much easier than struggling with DCOMCNFG and all the associated problems with having several vfp .exe servers in the background. I was able to put everything needed to create an ASP.NET/VFP COM web app in one utility, generate it, and run it with no need for any manual config or setup of servers...

>I'm still with you in the GUI world, but I've learned enough about COM to know it can be a pain in the a**. Don't get me wrong. It is an important feature for communicating with other apps, but I'd rather avoid the issues. When it comes time for me to build web apps, I'll probably choose one of the Fox-based platforms (WWWC, AFP, etc.) instead of ASP.NET + COM.
