I got it!!

THISFORM.GRID1.SELECTEDITEMBACKCOLOR = RGB(255,0,0)
THISFORM.GRID1.SELECTEDITEMFORECOLOR = RGB(255,255,0)

For some reason I thought I had to use the "SetAll" Syntax and this is why I couldn't get it to work.
