>windows 2000 advanced server and linux (fedora). my VMware is workstation 4.0. i had read the user guide. so,i'm confirm that this guest os can be install.
You must make sure that the exact version number of Linux Fedora is supported. For instance, SuSE 9.2 is but not 9.3. If that is all in order then you need to open a support ticket with VMWare support. They are very good. I found VMWare to be a very good product. You just install it. It creates the vm, you run the vm, load your guest os cd and it worked. But all versions of host and guest os's must be confirmed to be supported.
They also have a support forum where you can get a lot of help.
Lastly, the latest version of VMWare is 4.5.2. Is that what you got?
