Robert,

I'm not able to say "why", but I can verify that I've had similar experiences.

I've found that CR10's export to PDF is nearly immaculate, export to Word is very good, but export to Excel can be a bit of a different story. Some report outputs go to excel fine, but other formats (especially very detailed ones) sometimes wind up with various alignment issues.
