I don't think that David was questioning your competence at all. I've had the good fortune of exchanging correspondence with him both on this forum and through email. He's always been both kind and gracious in his communication with me.

Knowing you from here and your writing (and bio), I know that you're anything but incompetent. If there's a difference of opinion, so be it. I know I can live with it, and I think David can too.
