Michael, First using novell provides you with a respectable security shield. Design your app to run from the server, or have the data needing security on to the server make three groups with proper acces levels. Make sure your users are asigned to the proper groups and follow proper security standards ie. no passwords witten down under keyboard.
GPLIB will give you a good foundation of functionality IF the user is in a group that HAS the rights to perform the action requested.
~Joe Johnston USA

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animated contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsel or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
~Samuel Adams
