I had a similar problem once, i installed a DVD copy program and Nero, sometimes it seems that 2 DVD/CD copy programs can´t get along, maybe if you try unninstalling your new DVD copy software and maybe installing any other less troublesome, i have Roxio and Intervideo DVD Copy and they work just fine together.
